Dinners around here have been simple lately, with Drew improvising as we try to keep up with the garden. We were laughing about his phases while moving the cookbooks the other week – first there was the Anthony Bourdain period, when he had just started getting into cooking. Then came his Thomas Keller days, with some truly ridiculous preparations (think 4+ hours), and now I’d describe his style as more Jaimie Oliver. Unpretentious. He’s at ease in the kitchen. It reminds me a lot of Molly; there’s a fluidity to their movements, an economy of effort. It’s soothing to watch.
