One of the highlights of our trip was a girl’s day out (plus Zeke) to the Minocqua zoo. I’ve never seen anything like it – practically the whole place was a petting zoo. Deer and goats wandered about at their leisure – they just had a roped off area where the critters could go when they wanted a break from the kiddos.
Yes, those are shots of the girls petting a baby gray fox and a baby possum. Holy cuteness. And the bunnies you were allowed to actually pick up!
One of the coolest areas was the aviary. You could buy popsicle sticks covered in bird seed, and the little guys would climb all over you, looking for a treat.
And last but not least… a two baby giraffes, eating carrot slices out of our hands! Insane.
Amazing. They also had animals that couldn’t run free – tigers, panthers, etc. – and they were all remarkably active and happy.
Really, just the coolest zoo I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait for Junip to be old enough to appreciate it.
