So, there’s a reason I haven’t quit my day job to help with the family business. I tried to make the traditional Maciejewski chocolate-chocolate-cherry cake for Drew today. It looked really good for maybe a minute… and then began violently hemorrhaging.
By the time Drew saw it, the top had split into something like the Pacific tectonic plates, slowly but surely parting ways. The candles wouldn’t stay upright, and the sides lost most of their frosting as the cherry oozed out, making a little (large) sugary puddle on the plate. But, it still made him smile.
Happy birthday, Drewy!
