Happy Thanksgiving, guys! Junip is currently at the grandparents’ condo and Quinn is napping. A Thanksgiving gift 😉 Time to catch up with the last sunny photos of the year.
Our leaf piles were not quite the same this year, without our big beast of a maple dropping leaves over the entire block. Still, Junip made the most of what we had.
And this was really a treat for my pumpkin-obsessed little girl: a tiny little “Juniper sized” pumpkin grew out of our compost pile! I guess those squirrels must have missed a seed last fall.
Also, I kind of love this, but you will only understand if you are a Twin Peaks fan. My daughter is Log Lady. For real. She named him Stick and she loves him. She snuggles with him, she feeds him sand, she rocks him in the hammock, she jumps into leaf piles with him, she takes him to the ‘hospital’ and treats his wounds. It’s been over a month since she found him in the wood pile and claimed him for her own, and he is the only thing she’ll play with when we go outside.
We’ve been finishing up the last of the home projects for the year. Drew planted the garlic and put the garden to bed, we got the bikes hung (finally) on the porch, I got our mailbox, house numbers, and hose racks all re-mounted (they were down for the new siding). A new gate latch, a new storm door. One last surge of productivity before the cold comes and we go soft and lazy.
And, last weekend, an early Thanksgiving of sorts down in Arlington Heights. Auntie Jill and Baby Hattie were able to meet us, and it was so cute watching the babes chase and poke and observe each other.
That an armful of wiggley cuteness, right there.
Anyways, I’m off to peel some potatoes before my wee one wakes up. Happy Tofurkey Day to you all! Full hearts and full tummies.
